How to Locate an Old Girlfriend

She might have been the one that got away. Or maybe she just got away with your favorite CDs. There are many reasons for finding an old girlfriend. Before you seek her out, consider why you want to reconnect. You will be more likely to keep searching until you succeed if your intentions are benevolent. Be patient during your search and if you do locate her, be kind and respect her wishes.

Call her old phone number. If she has kept her old phone number she may be open to getting calls from long lost friends. Look for her name in the phone book. If she still lives in the same city, her phone number might be listed.

Write to her at her old address. If she is no longer there the letter may get forwarded to her new address. Writing a letter allows you to reach out in a personal and thoughtful way. In addition, it gives her the time to think about how to respond.

Contact mutual friends. They could provide the link to your old girlfriend or tell you how open she is to hearing from you.

Use social media such as Facebook and Linkedin. These sites allow unprecedented access to old friends and they have privacy settings to keep unwanted connections at bay.

Use the Internet. Search for her name on various search engines. Use what you know about her. You may be able to locate her through an alumni association or professional organizations.
