How to Write a Memory Thank You Project Closure

If you need closure from a relationship and want to express your gratitude for the experience, write a card thanking that person for the memories. After a break-up or the end of a relationship, it can be difficult to express the emotions face to face. Writing a letter makes it easier to be honest and say exactly how you feel. Keep the intent positive by thanking the person for the time spent together.

Instructions

    1

Begin the letter with "Dear." Address the person by the name they are most comfortable with. Don't use pet names that could send the wrong signal. Hand write the entire letter; this reflects more sincerity than a typed letter.

    2

Write positive statements about memories you appreciate. Avoid blaming or recounting negative experiences.

    3

Thank the person for specific things they did for you. For example, "Thank you for always getting up first to make the coffee."

    4

Explain that this letter is to express happiness for having known the person and that the memories you have with him will be cherished forever.

    5

Add a statement about hoping to spend time together soon if you want to see the person. This leaves the lines of communication open if desired.

    6

Sign the letter with "Yours Truly", "Sincerely" or "Love," depending on the nature of the relationship and the message you want to convey.
