How to Deal With Your Boyfriend Leaving Without Warning

Break-ups are never easy, but when they happen without warning, it can be tough to accept what has happened. If you boyfriend has left with little advance notice, you probably feel hurt and betrayed. The pain of a sudden break-up doesn't go away overnight, but if you take good care of yourself and allow yourself time to grieve, you'll eventually feel normal again. Friends and family can sometimes help you avoid feeling lonely.

Find out what went wrong. If you don't know why your boyfriend left without warning, you will spend a lot of time wondering. Call or email him politely and ask why he left so suddenly. If he doesn't get back to you, don't flood his inbox --- you'll have to start letting go without an explanation.

Spend time being sad. There will probably be times when you won't feel like doing anything after your boyfriend leaves suddenly --- and that's okay.

Escape into a world of fiction for a while. Check out your favorite books or movies from the library, or go to the movies. If a good film is playing, you may be able to forget about your boyfriend for several hours at a time.

Start new routines and traditions. Missing out on things you used to do with your boyfriend can be one of the hardest parts of a break-up, so try to do things you would have never done with your boyfriend.

Talk to your close friends and family members about the break-up. They can help you talk through the issues surrounding the breakup, and they can also make you laugh.

Acknowledge that you and your boyfriend are not getting back together. The sooner you admit this to yourself, the sooner you will be able to move forward.

Date casually when you feel ready. Though you may not want another relationship, casual dates can be fun and can help you get over your boyfriend.
