How to Make Your Friend Your Girlfriend

It's a common scenario: You fall for a friend, but you're not sure how she feels about you. Even worse, you're worried that if she rejects you, you'll lose her as a friend, as well. This is a delicate situation, but it is one that can have a happy ending if handled with care.

Instructions

Give her space. You may think that lavishing her with attention will make her fall for you, but in most cases, it makes a woman feel smothered if she's not in a relationship. The saying "Absence makes the heart grow fonder" is a good one to remember.

Flirt with her if you don't already. Flirting should come easy if you both have shared chemistry.

Watch the signs. If she flirts back, you can assume she is probably at least a little bit sexually attracted to you. This is a good sign. Sexual attraction can build into stronger feelings.

Hang out with her one-on-one every now and then. Let her get used to you without a gang of friends hanging around. She may see you in a new light.

Tell her you like her. Be very casual as you lay down the facts. Say something like, "What do you think about going out on a date Saturday night?" or "It feels like there's a spark here. Do you feel it?"

Don't tell her you love her, and don't act like it's a big deal. That way, she won't feel pressured and you won't feel like an idiot if she says "no."
