How to Tell a Girl Not to Talk to You Anymore

Your relationship has come to an end, and yet, the girl involved keeps contacting you. You want to end all communication between you and this girl; she doesn't seem to be getting the message. You just want a peaceful resolution to this situation. What can you do? You can try talking to her face to face or you can take legal action, if need be. This article will help you explore both tactics.

Use "I" statements to express your needs, feelings and concerns about the necessity of ending the relationship and all communication between the two of you. When you use "I" statements, you are not blaming the other individual; you are merely expressing your own emotions and desires. For example, you might say, "I feel I need to move on in my life and I need to end all contact with you to do that." You could also say something like, "I feel sad that we have to part ways; however, I feel too hurt to continue having any contact with you. I don't feel like it is doing me any good."

Remain positive. Explain how ending all communication will benefit both of you in the long run. Look for as many positive repercussions as possible to ending all contact between you, such as an end to painful arguing or a chance for each of you to start focusing on yourselves.

Be sure to tie up any and all loose ends at this meeting to ensure that there will be no need for further communication. Ask yourself if you have returned all of the girl's belongings to her. Ensure that you have obtained any and all belongings of yours that you might need. It is imperative that you do not leave her any reason to contact you in the future, if you truly wish to permanently end all communication.

Make sure she understands that there will be no further communication between the two of you. Listen to her feedback to make sure you're both on the same page. Be sure to reinforce the need for ending contact between you, if she does not seem to understand.

Wish her well and be on your way, once you have ascertained that she understands the relationship is over and there will be no further contact. Leave the public place separately.

Your local court clerk may be able to steer you in the right legal direction.

If asking for a clean break does not work, you may be forced to get a no-contact order or a restraining order, depending upon your situation. You will need to go to your local courthouse for these documents. To do this, you should document any attempts you have made to end contact with this girl. Keep careful records of the times and dates that she has contacted you, after you have clearly requested her to stop communicating with you. You may need proof of this for the court, depending upon your local laws.

Speak to your local court clerk at the courthouse and request assistance in resolving your issue. Explain your situation and ask what local ordinances require you to do to resolve your problem by legally forbidding her from contacting you.

Be sure to follow through with all of the steps necessary in your locality to get your legal order approved by the courts. These steps will vary from one location to another. You may be required to appear for a court hearing. Uphold your part of the process in a thorough and timely manner, and your issue will be civilly and legally remedied.
