Asking anyone out on a date can be daunting; and asking someone who is already your friend can be even more nerve-racking. At the same time, you must remember the guy is your friend, so he will be ready and willing to listen to what you have to say. If you use the basis of your friendship to support you in your quest, it is possible to turn your friendship into a more romantic relationship and snag yourself a date.

Plan what you are going to say to your friend. You don't need to plan every word, but it can cut down on your anxiety, if you think about what you are going to say ahead of time.
2Arrange to meet your guy friend in a place that is comfortable for you both. For example, a coffee house or pub you both like to hang out at. If you are both at ease and enjoying each other's company, it will be that much easier for you to bring up the topic of dating.
3Compliment him with a couple of genuine comments. If you are sincere in your flattery, it is likely to bring a smile to your friend's face and give you the perfect opportunity to continue.
4Face your friend when there is a pause in the conversation, and tell him honestly how you feel. Confidently open up without over-sharing. Ask him outright if he would be interested in going on a date with you.
5Allow your friend to respond. Discuss the possibility of dating with him and respond to any concerns he may have. A common concern when friends begin dating, is that the change will harm the friendship. Remain open and honest with each other to ensure this does not occur.
