How to Cope With a Depressed Boyfriend

If you love your boyfriend, you will find ways to cope with his depression. Breaking up with a depressed boyfriend may not seem like an option because you don't want to send him into deeper despair, but staying with him can make you depressed. Dealing with a sad man will allow you to stay with him and help him get better.

Instructions

Let your boyfriend know that he is loved. Tell him every day how much you love him. Tell him it's been a long time since you've seen his handsome smile.

Take time for yourself. Allow him space to deal with his depression on his own. Spend time with him when you feel you can handle his sadness.

Pull him out of his routine. Take him out of the home and show him all the beauty in the area. A simple walk in the park can break his sad routine.

Tell him that he is not alone in feeling depressed. Tell him about times when you were depressed and then tell him you always recovered. He needs to know that his feelings are temporary.

Help him find the support he needs. Depression is sometimes a condition must be treated with therapy and sometimes medication. He might need counseling or psychiatry.
