How to Figure Out My Achievement Motivation

Figuring out your achievement and motivation needs is essential for living a proactive life. Creativity and inspiration are spawned by inner qualities that reside inside you. Motivations are also found through the people with whom you associate, activities in which you involve yourself and your genuine outlook on life. Defining your achievement motivation allows you to give all you have to offer to yourself, your family, your community and the world.

Instructions

Stay positive. Keep your thoughts constructive and your vocabulary optimistic. Refrain from maintaining a negative outlook. Avoid defeatist vocabulary or making excuses on a regular basis. Remaining positive is a mental and emotional shift that is critical to thinking clearly and figuring out your achievement motivation.

Identify your passion. Look inside your soul and ask yourself, "What is the one thing I want most for my life?" More specifically, ask yourself what you consider to be your specific calling, talent or vocation in life---your main driving force. Be careful to avoid choosing objects as your main driving force---such as the desire for a fancy house. Objects are often the result---not the impetus---of achievement and motivation.

Find perspective by focusing on stimulation that will help you grow individually and collectively. Surround yourself with encouraging people who think and speak with affirmation. Ask those closest to you---who possess these attributes---to offer their viewpoints on what they feel you excel at and/or are naturally inclined to do. Accepting alternative points of view is a wise way to expand your mind, gain perspective and deepen your achievement motivation.
