How to Build Your Confidence Up When You're With Your Girlfriend

While the start of a new relationship can be an exciting time, full of promise and opportunity, it can also be a nerve wracking one, as you are just getting to know your new romantic partner. Instead of suffering through months of uncertainty and discomfort as you get the ball rolling on your new relationship, build up your confidence more quickly, allowing yourself to move though the initial stages of your new union with ease and show your girl your true self, not just the version of you that comes out when nerves get the better of you.

Get to know your girl. As you head out on your first couple dates, ask your girlfriend loads of questions. The sooner you get to know your girl the more likely you are to feel comfortable around her.

Watch for signs of enjoyment. Your girlfriend likely won't say, "I'm enjoying this," -- or at least not as often as you would like her to -- but she will almost certainly give off some outward signs of enjoyment, allowing you to ensure that you are doing something right. Watch for laughs, smiles and tender touches as these all tell you that your girlfriend thinks you are on the right track.

Remind yourself that she chose to spend time with you. If you don't feel good enough for your girlfriend, your lack of confidence will likely show. Instead of always questioning why she is with you and beating yourself up over what you lack, think positively, remembering that she voluntarily is doing things with you, meaning that she likely sees something worthwhile in you.

Ask her about her desires. Don't try to guess what your girl wants, but instead find out directly from her, so that you can fulfill her desire. As you learn what she wants, do those things, reminding yourself as you do that you are truly making her happy, and, at the same time, making you a wonderful boyfriend.

Think about the worst case scenario. While breaking up is never fun, it is hardly a horrible worst case scenario. Your life isn't on the line, so there is no reason to be as nervous as you would be if it were. Enjoy yourself, and your girlfriend will likely more fully enjoy her time with you.
