Good Conversation Topics for Long Distance Relationships

Being in a long distance relationship can be hard on even the strongest couples. One of the best ways to remain close is with regular phone conversations. Most of the time, phone conversations are smooth and fast-paced, but everyone hits snags now and then. Keeping a few conversation topics in mind is a good way to make sure that things keep flowing, and can eliminate awkward pauses.

Good relationships always start out with two people becoming friends and setting a foundation of trust. In long distance relationships this becomes even more important because of how far apart the people are. Most people enjoy describing themselves, their interests, passions and hobbies. Ask questions about your partner's hobbies and interests, and how he or she is engaging in them this week. This will provide an on-going source of topics for conversation.

One of the tricks to making a long distance relationship interesting is to always find stimulating topics of conversation. Talking about family and friends is an important step in a long distance relationship because it moves the relationship to a more intimate level. Knowing more about a partner's family, their behavior, mannerisms, likes and dislikes will help you interact better with your partner during face-to-face meetings. The same holds good with your partner's good friends.

People spend a good part of each day at work. The office and the colleagues one interacts with at work make for interesting topics of conversation. Sharing the happenings of the day with somebody who cares enough to listen is always a goof feeling, and is something that people in local relationships often take for granted.
