How to Control an Infatuation With a Girl

They call it a crush because it hurts when it ends and a crush is very similar to an infatuation. Every time you see that person you feel that little pounding in your heart, the butterflies in your stomach and you know that you want to see them again as soon as possible. When it comes time to get over that infatuation you must first start by learning how to control it. This way your crush stays a harmless problem and not a stalking problem.

Instructions

Date other people. As hard as it might sound the only thing you can really do to control how strongly you feel about one person is to date other people. Try dating as many people as possible so you can see all the other people that are out there.

Surround yourself with your friends. Your friends are going to be your biggest asset when you need to control an infatuation because even your closest friends can only listen to you whine and complain for so long. At some point theyll tell you to snap out of it or force you to confront the other person.

Make a list of all the negative things about the person youre infatuated with and all those little things they do to annoy you. Think about all the things you dont like about the person and put it down on paper. Then when you find yourself thinking about her, take a look at your list and remember one of those things.

Tell the person about your feelings. Yes it will be hard, but its something youll have to do at some point or youll go insane wondering what might have been. Ask the person out on a date or just tell them that you have feelings. Even if they shoot you down, youll feel better for getting it out there.

Give yourself time. Time heals all wounds and sometimes the only thing you can do is take some time. While right now you feel like this person is the love of your life in a few months, he or she will be nothing more than a forgotten memory.
