How to Deal With a Shy Boyfriend

Having a shy boyfriend can initially seem troublesome and frustrating -- even hurtful, if you feel he's not showing much interest or confidence in your relationship. However, shyness can certainly be overcome, and there are a range of methods to help you achieve this; normally it's important to be patient and understanding, while always respecting his feelings. You may find that his shyness is actually a result of his sensitivity or admiration for you, which can have the effect of adding depth to your relationship.

This helps to build a good connection in his mind between showing confidence and having situations go well.

Meet his friends. Sometimes people feel shy when they're around certain people, but can open up completely in different company. If he appears to be more relaxed and outgoing with his friends, try to appreciate what it is about them that makes him at ease. Think about what they tend to talk about and what they spend their time doing; these activities may already be a source of confidence for him, so there's no reason why they couldn't fit into your relationship initially, too.
