How to Rebuild a Friendship With an Ex Boyfriend

The most successful long-term romantic relationships are based on friendship. Physical attraction fades over time, but a strong friendship helps keep the relationship alive. Increase contact with him gradually, to appropriate levels, with more frequent calls and emails. Be open and honest about any romantic relationships you get involved in as well so there is no confusion over where the relationship with you and your ex is heading.

Establish specific guidelines and boundaries for the friendship, such as how much time you expect to spend together. Keep the relationship platonic. Refrain from any sort of sexual activity to avoid any confusion.
