How to Tell Your Girlfriend You Are Into Pokemon

Video games, like any hobby, are specific to an individual's taste. Not all relationships will survive only one person being interested in playing video games. But, a large part of that depends on the approach that both members take to their individual hobbies. Some couples want to do everything together, while others understand that they may have some individual pursuits. You may find it difficult to tell your girlfriend that you're into video games, but it doesn't have to be that difficult.

Determine her level of interest in video games. This will help you refine your strategy to tell her about your interest in the Pokemon game. If you're finding it difficult to bring up the topic, go to the mall and walk into a video game store. Observe her reaction as you window shop.

Take her to a friend's house and ask your friend to offer video games as an activity. Try to engage her in a game with another couple or another girl. The game does not have to be Pokemon. In fact, if she's completely unfamiliar with video games or has expressed a disinterest in them it may be best to pick a game that conforms to her interests. This may be just the hook to get her interested.

Discuss the evening with her later. Try to discover how she felt about the video games in particular. If she was interested agree with her and express your own interest in gaming. If she didn't like the video games, try and get her to say why.

Pay attention to what she tells you about her hobbies and interests. Undoubtedly, there will be at least one thing she likes to do that you have no interest in. Use this as leverage when you feel the time has come to tell her about your interest in playing video games, Pokemon especially. If she objects, point out to her the hobbies she has that you have no interest in doing either.

Focus on the activities and interests that the two of you share. She may or may not be willing to try and learn Pokemon or be a part of your video gaming. That should be OK, as long as you can both agree on how it's going to be. If she's as passionate about golf, for example, as you are Pokemon than those may just be two things you do separately or teach one another.
