How to Get Past the Crush Stage of a Romance

There are numerous stages of a romantic relationship. One of the first stages is the "crush" stage. During this stage, you feel an attraction for a certain person. If you want to move past this stage to a more meaningful relationship, there are certain things you can do to help it along. You will get more satisfaction from a meaningful relationship. The conversation is better, the shared experiences are more fun and the overall relationship becomes more nourishing and uplifting.

Find things about your partner that you admire. This will help you appreciate more about the person than just his appearance. Moving to a deeper level will allow you to find out what he likes, his hobbies, his interests and who he is as a person. This will help strengthen the bond between the two of you.

Spend more time doing things that are meaningful to you both. Doing things together will help generate a special bond. If you both enjoy art, visit an art museum. Are you both music lovers? Attend a concert together and have some fun. Shared experiences will automatically bring you closer together.

Get into deeper levels of conversation. Discussing your view points and opinions will help you better understand one another. You will value what the other believes and be able to appreciate each other more. Topics may include: politics, religion or education. This is also where you will discover how much, or how little, you have in common. For some people, certain differences can be a deal breaker. For other couples, it makes no difference.

Meet each other's family and friends. Your partner's loved ones can tell you about past events and special things she did growing up. You will get to learn your partner's background, and have a better understanding of who she is and why she may choose to do certain things.

Share intimate thoughts and feelings with one another. This will certainly move you past the "crush" stage. Once you begin sharing personal feelings, you become closer to one another. Showing how much you care by holding hands, cuddling and talking through the night is a special way to open up to your partner.
