When you've made a mistake in your relationship and your ex has given you the cold shoulder, you may feel like there's something you can to get them to at least acknowledge you still exist. You've reached out to by making calls and sending text messages, and you may have even scribbled a note asking him to call you on his car. The first step in trying to patch up things with your ex is to apologize. An apology may not restore your relationship, but it might be just the ticket to get him to speak to you again.

Imagine how your ex feels about the situation. Try to go through the process of thinking how you would feel and what you would do if you were in the situation. Feel all of those emotions and think about what you'd want your ex to do if the roles were reversed. Be willing to give your ex time go through a series of emotions before forcing yourself back in her life for forgiveness. Attempt to apologize sincerely but then don't stalk the situation by continually pushing the issue when things are fresh and painful.
2Write a letter. No one really sends snail mail letters anymore with the availability of many forms of technology. Get a few sheets of colorful stationery and jot down your words. Start by saying how sorry you are and acknowledging what you've done. Don't make excuses for what you've done. Just get your point across by saying exactly how you feel and why you want to apologize. Ask your ex to accept your apology and to do so by committing an action such as texting you that they got the letter or calling you.
3Use other measures to get through to your ex. Drop by your ex's house and leave a sincere gift. A bundle of flowers on the doorstep or a basket full of favorite things would work. Include a note describing your feelings and how sorry you are. Send word by one of your friends or talk to your ex's parents for advice on how to reach out. Detail the plans you will take to make things better and communicate to those who can help deliver the message.
4Do something wild when you aren't getting any attention. Send a singing telegram through a nationwide singing telegram service like the Nationwide Singing Telegram Company or check with your local florist or balloon company for services. Leave a host of sticky notes on your ex's front door saying, "I'm stuck on you, I'm sorry, please forgive me." Purchase a puppy your ex has been begging for and arrange for him to be delivered to the house. Do something zany that you know your ex would like or laugh at to attempt to break the ice. Follow through your stunts with a sincere, heartfelt apology and ask if you two can simply talk about things with no pressure to get back together.
