Being a breakup coward is something that runs through every mind when a relationship is breaking up. There is no easy way, but there are many cowardly ways to end a relationship. If you simply must turn a yellow belly towards the sky here are some time honored and more modern ways to turn your backbone to jelly.

Instructions

    1

Become unbearable to be around by moping, being insanely jealous or forgetting a few important dates. Making the soon-to-be ex hate you won't win you points with her friends, but it gets the job done.

    2

Tell a friend of a friend of a friend that you want to breakup. Give them clear guidance on who they should tell to ensure the message gets to where it needs to go. Having a friend start a rumor about the coming demise of the relationship is also a workable strategy.

    3

Use email or text messaging to deliver the news, making sure you're somewhere they can't find if they need additional clarification. Cease all further communication and make a point to stay away from their friends. A cowardly breakup won't allow civil communication.

    4

Stop all communication, cut them off and offer no explanation. Move into a new place or even a new town if necessary. Being a coward probably means you have no friends to lose, so a complete break with your past is feasible.

    5

Fake amnesia or even death but consider carefully the repercussions of discovery. Walk along a local beach in a state of partial undress and claim a complete failure of memory. Verify you have some form of ID in order for the authorities to get you home. This method has a high chance of failure due to the significant other's possible desire to see you though a difficult period.
