How to Become Comfortable Around Girls

For many boys it's difficult to be comfortable around girls. When the time comes to begin dating, this can become a problem. But you can find a comfort zone that allows you to be yourself and make a good impression.

Realize that girls have the same fears and apprehensions as you. The girl you're speaking with may feel just as awkward as you do at first.

Remember your value. Don't idealize anyone or put her on a pedestal. Sure she's special, but so are you.

Date in pairs if you fear awkward silences. If you don't feel comfortable trying to hold a conversation on your own, go on a double date. Conversation will come easier with your friends there for support.

Ask open-ended questions. A simple yes or no can stop conversations cold. Open-ended questions that require explanations and invite follow-ups can keep the conversation flowing and make you more comfortable.

Spend more time around girls and listen intently. Get to know their likes and dislikes. The girls can just be friends or family. Don't talk too much during these periods. The key is to find out as much about them as possible.

Talk about what you know and enjoy. Girls like to hear guys talk about the things that interest them. If you're passionate about something, share your zest. It will make you seem all the more attractive.
