How to Deal With Childish Men

Some men never seem to grow up. No matter if he's making irresponsible decisions, like choosing to play video games over finishing up an important task, or is unreliable and can't be counted on, you don't have to deal with a childish-behaving man. Not only is his behavior annoying, he could be causing you a lot of stress regardless of whether you're dating him, he's your co-worker or a complete stranger. Put him in his place and on your level by handling him appropriately.

Instructions

Ignore his behavior. Pass up acknowledging the childish things he does, even if it's avoiding a conversation with him mid-sentence. Change the subject as soon as he starts behaving immaturely as not to encourage his behavior. Excuse yourself or simply walk away when he's displaying childish behavior.

Tell him his attitude is annoying you. Let him know how you feel so he understands that at least from you, his actions are unacceptable. Find out if he understands that how he acts is not becoming of him and see if he cares. Take into account that he might not actually understand what he's doing or think it's a cute way to behave.

Avoid dealing with him. Walk the other way when you see him coming, tell him you're busy and can't spend time with him or that you're simply not interested. If after you've warned him he continues to conduct himself in the same way, avoid him at all cost.

Be nice to him and provide encouraging reinforcement when he performs positively. When you're faced with dealing with him but he's acting in a manner that shows sense and maturity, commend him on his behavior. You could say something such as "I like it when you act like this. You're easier to talk now," or try "That's a great idea; I appreciate when we chat like this."
