If you and your girlfriend have started spending more time together, it's likely that you both are enjoying the relationship and looking forward to getting to know more about each other. However, if you've been blindsided by your girlfriend telling you that you're clingy and want to maintain a good relationship, you've got to fix it or risk losing her. Take inventory of your approach to handling the relationship to make things better.

Be confident in who you are. Get comfortable knowing that if she's happy with you she likes you and you don't need to clutch closer to keep her around. Find value in what you have to offer in the relationship so that you don't feel as if it's one-sided and you're lucky to be with her. Consider both of you lucky to be with each other for whatever traits that drew you together.
2Identify your cling-on habits. Ask her exactly what it is you're doing that causes her to think you're being clingy. It could be that you're just used to behaving differently in a relationship than she is and you both need time to adjust. Communicate clearly as to what you're doing so you know if it's an easy fix or simply a part of your personality. Do a little soul searching to try to answer the question for her. Take a step back and think about what ways you feel like you're keeping her so close.
3Give her some reasonable space. The beginning of the relationship is usually the time when a couple is inseparable; wedge some space between the two of you by doing your own thing. Spend time with your friends, get caught up on a project you've neglected or commit to doing some things solo. Go to the gym when it's convenient for you instead of revamping your schedule to wait for her.
4Invite other friends to do new things with you both so all of your focus isn't on her. Get tickets to an outdoor festival or host a game night at your house where a few of your friends can join in on the fun. Reduce some of your affection so you're not clinging to her every moment you're near her. Pal around as buddies and see how she feels about the reduction of clinginess.
5Ask her for feedback as you adjust things. Get an idea to how she feels and reacts to the change to see if it's changed her opinion on how clingy you are.
