While the exploits of drama queens are well-documented, the fact remains that there is a male counterpart, the drama king. When trying to decide whether your beau is indeed one of them, it is important to distinguish between isolated incidents and patterned behavior as there are telltale signs.
Jumping to Conclusions
It's one thing to be somewhat mindful for whatever may happen, but if he's always assuming that the worst case scenario has unfolded, then he may be a drama king. For example, if you are running late to meet him somewhere, does he leapfrog all of the logical reasons, such as traffic, errands and unforeseen events, and go right to assuming you were with another man?
Penchant for Confict
There's a fine line between being a harmless devil's advocate and loving to pick a fight. Keep an eye out for patterns and whether you are constantly defending yourself, even over the most mundane of things. Also, watch out for him stirring up drama when he isn't at the center of the conflict. For instance, when you're in a potentially confrontational situation with someone else, does he push your buttons, antagonize you and exacerbate the situation?

No one is perfect, and everyone inevitably falls short and disappoints their partner at some point of a relationship. As long as there's mutual respect and genuine remorse, most couples are able to successfully move on with the courtship. Drama kings, however, tend to needlessly drag things out even when there's nothing left of the issue to hash out. If you regularly feel that your punishment doesn't fit your crime, then he may be a drama king.

Drama kings tend to never let you live down the mistakes of the past. Even if you manage to obtain forgiveness for prior wrongs, he never forgets, especially during new arguments. Whenever conflict arises, you may find yourself on trial for both the current issue and an old one or two, which complicates things even further. Occasionally bringing up the past in anger happens from time to time, but drama kings espouse double jeopardy, trying you for the same mistake over and over.
