Couples break up for various reasons, and sometimes you may feel as though you made a hasty decision in deciding to cut your girl from your life. If you want your girl back, give it time first to be sure that this is what you want. You may just be missing the idea of having her around. Once you've decided that getting her back is what you want, follow a few tips to ensure that you are not repeating behaviors that broke the two of you up in the first place.
Take It Slow
Do not call your ex every day or text her every hour to tell her how much you've missed her and how much you want to see her again. Sending a short text asking how her day is going is a way to keep the communication lines open without any pressure. Do not move too quickly with a romantic candlelit dinner. After spending time with friendly communication, go for a lunch date instead. Do it during work hours so you have an excuse to go. In this case, less is better because it might leave her wanting more.
Save the Emotions
Showing your ex that you miss her is all right; however, breaking down and leaving sobbing messages on her phone is not. You'll want to steer clear of leaving begging text messages that border on stalking. Do not send an email with the subject line "Please come back to me!" Sure, you may be hurt by the breakup, but she wants to know she's not coming back to the same situation that caused you break up in the first place -- in this case, being too needy and emotional. Do not get angry if she gives you an answer you don't want to hear. Just because she's not sure at that point in time doesn't mean she won't consider being your girlfriend again in the future.
Be Honest
If you broke up because of your temper, consider seeking help. Be honest with her and let her know that you are seeking help and would like to try again. If she accused you of cheating and you never confirmed or denied it, be honest and upfront. Tell her the truth and, hopefully, you can begin a brand new, honest, relationship with her.
Move On
You may find yourself fixated on your ex, so much so that everybody and everything in your life is pushed aside. Being preoccupied with getting your girl back may cause unwanted phone calls and emails that she may not be ready for yet. Stay busy with other things in your life while you give her time to decide whether she's ready to come back to you. Pressuring her may only push her away.
Keep Up Your Appearance
You may be tempted to wallow away in self pity and refuse to wash or wear anything other than dirty, old sweats. A good appearance equals self-confidence and makes you feel better. In fact, going to the gym helps keep your mind occupied while keeping your body in shape. When she's ready to reconcile, you'll be prepared to welcome her back with your newly buffed arms.
