In these days of turbulent relationship patterns, there are a lot of ways exes "bully" each other, from constant unwanted communication to fights over possessions or even children. When you feel bullied by someone from your past, your challenge is to find a way to get free from the situation. Never be afraid to ask for help, and use these common solutions to deal with an aggressive ex.

Instructions

    1

Do some C.Y.B., which stands for "Cover your butt" and is a first step in dealing with a bullying ex. Do your best to make sure your ex doesn't have any sensitive information she could use to blackmail you or hold over your head.

    2

Get out of reach. A bullying ex will want to have you accessible so he can take out his aggression on you easily. Get as far away as possible, and stay there.

    3

Limit contact to let the bullying ex know you're serious. You're less likely to be manipulated or tricked back into being bullied around.

    4

Be firm. When people are feeling bullied, it can be because they are not sticking up for themselves. Observe your own actions, and be sure you are not being passive. Learn to stick up for yourself in all situations.

    5

Find a community network. Family and friends can help out if you feel you're under attack from a bullying ex. They can help you analyze situations or confront your ex.

    6

Use legal means if necessary. There are many different kinds of bullying. If their behavior turns threatening, a restraining order may be necessary. Don't rule out asking the law to step in if things are really going south.
