Fun Questions to Ask Your New Boyfriend

During the first few months of dating your boyfriend, there is a lot to learn.

The process of getting to know someone can be done in a fun and exciting way that doesn't have to be like an interview session.

Instructions

    1

Come up with a list of questions. Think of topics that interest you or him or things you would like to know about him. To keep the mood fun, don't delve into anything too deep or tricky. You don't want his answers to lead to a fight.

You can learn about his childhood by asking things like "What were your favorite cartoons?" or "What were you favorite video games?" or "What did the kids in your town like to do on weekends?"

For more current information you could try asking; "If you had a million dollars and 20 days to live, how would you spend it?" or "Do you prefer action/adventure or horror movies?"

    2

Wait for the right time. Once you know what kinds of things you are going to ask, your next step is timing. You don't want to engage in any frivolous conversation if there are issues on the table.

If there are problems or tension between the two of you, a fun and exciting game of "getting to know you," could end badly.

You also don't want to attack him right when he walks in the door. He may get suspicious having a lot of inquiries coming at him right away. When you see each other, it's nice to get settled, talk about your day and relax a little before jumping right into these fun questions.

    3

Set the scene. Contrary to popular belief, romantic spontaneity takes a certain amount of planning and preparation. You can't just fly in from a long day at work, hop on your boyfriend's lap and expect the reaction you are looking for.

Once you have defined your best time, plan for some refreshments. Keep in mind that people feel better and think better when there are not hungry. Avoid crowded restaurants, as having so many people within hearing distance can keep the conversation from being candid. Prepare a simple meal, light some candles, play some romantic music and you will have created the proper mood.

    4

Listen but don't judge. Revealing anything important about yourself to someone you are just getting to know takes some bravery. Something that might seem trivial to you may be something your boyfriend holds close to his heart.

Hysterical laughter at the thought of him losing his lunch when he stood up to give his first speech might cause him to get defensive or shy away. Listen to what he is saying and let him talk as much as he wants.

His reactions to his own answers will suggest how you should respond to him. Never let him feel that something he tells you in this lighthearted setting would make you judge him.

    5

Reciprocate. What's fair is fair. If you are able to get your boyfriend to open up, he might expect the same from you.

Be careful not to use this opportunity to turn the conversation completely on yourself and talk his ear off. Instead, be prepared to answer his fun questions in return if he asks you to. Keep your answers within the spirit of the conversation; carefree and entertaining.
