How to Get a Smart, Shy Boy to Like Me

Relationships would be easy if you could make everyone like you, but unfortunately that's not the case. This is especially true with boys who are both shy and smart. Because of their personality traits, it may be especially hard for them to open up and allow themselves to take part in a romantic relationship. If you find yourself falling for a boy who is both smart and shy, consider these tips to get him to like you.

Make the first move. If a boy is shy, he's likely too scared to approach a girl himself. Help him out by approaching him and introducing yourself. Becoming friends with him will help build his confidence so he can be more comfortable around you.

Ask about his hobbies. Smart boys who are also shy may like activities that are educational but also reserved, such as reading or working with computers. Once you find out what his hobbies are you'll have something to talk about. Because it's something he's familiar with, he'll become more at ease and talkative around you. This confidence, paired with a strong friendship, will often turn into a romantic relationship over time.

Be patient. Being smart is great when you're in school, but it also causes you to overanalyze everything. Smart boys often don't understand how relationships and dating work, because it's not always logical. This can cause them to react much slower than the average person. Getting frustrated over his cluelessness will only push him away, while being patient will increase your bond.

Be brave. If you're sick of waiting for a boy to ask you out, do it yourself. He may be too shy to do it himself and be relieved when you finally ask the question. Confidence is also attractive and will make you even more desirable.
