Relationships almost always come down to a decision at some point; you either want to maintain a commitment to each other, or you don't. You may decide to break up with a woman for a variety of reasons, but a simple lack of interest is a particularly common reason. Breaking up with a woman you are not romantically interested in can be rather difficult, because you can still care about her as a friend. In this situation, however, a breakup is in both parties' best interest.

Find an appropriate setting for the breakup. Avoid her favorite places, and avoid breaking up with her on days that hold significance, such as anniversaries, holidays or her birthday. Break up with her in a private place, because emotions during a breakup can run high.
2Inform her of your decision, clearly and bluntly. Do not skirt around the issue, and unless you have a reason such as an infidelity on her part, do not blame her for your lack of interest. Explain that there are better options for both of you, and that she deserves someone who will reciprocate her interest and affection.
3Prepare yourself for her reaction. She might cry, scream or say hurtful things. Remain calm and resist the temptation to fight with her, because this will only complicate the breakup and ruin a potential friendship in the future. Comfort her for the moment, but continuing to do so in the days after the breakup could confuse her and cause conflicting emotions.
4Give her time and space to process what you have done. Even if you would like to maintain a friendship with her in the future, recognize that, for the present, she will most likely feel hurt and want nothing to do with you. Avoid complicated fights and hostility by allowing both yourself and your ex to calm down and begin the process of moving on.
