Emo, short for "emotional" was originally used to describe a genre of post-punk-style music. It is now associated with a particular style of dress and way of expressing yourself. "Emo" people are often very into music and/or poetry. A good way of attracting an emo guy or girl is by tapping into these interests. You could also try dating websites; several exist solely for emo singles.

Dress appropriately. Style is vitally important to the emo culture. A classic emo outfit is skinny jeans and slogan-style T-shirts. Emos often sport dark makeup and have distinctive asymmetrical haircuts. Even if you do not consider yourself "emo," you are likely to have better luck attracting one if you dress this way. Many emo-type people will be turned off by preppy or jock-style clothing.
2Familiarize yourself with emo culture, especially popular emo bands. You can search and listen to music associated with the genre on music-sharing and social-networking sites. Famous mainstream emo bands include My Chemical Romance, Taking Back Sunday, Senses Fail and Panic! at the Disco. If you already have an emo friend you would like to date, find out her favorite local and national bands. You could even impress her with tickets to a gig.
3Write a letter or some poetry to express how you feel. Emo people are known for expressing their sentiments in poetry, journals or the composition of song lyrics. Modern emo culture is heavily associated with teenage angst. Impress an emo guy by sharing your inner-most feelings on paper. Simply tell him how you feel, preferably in a creative way. You could also try drawings.
4Consider the emo way of life and be particularly sensitive to your potential girlfriend's feelings. Take notice of her moods and offer to talk about them. Compliment the person if you notice her sporting a new hair color or style. Be prepared to open up about your feelings, both about how you feel about them and about the world in general. Emo people tend to respect honesty and dislike "fakeness" or people they perceive to be superficial.
5Use the Internet to meet emo singles. Some mainstream dating sites have emo sections, while several are dedicated solely to matchmaking emo people (see Resources). Club Emo is one such dating website. It is free to become a member, allowing you to post a profile and search for potential dates. To message a person, however, you need to upgrade to a paid membership. Emo Hook Ups is a similar site. Emo Corner is a site with a free forum on which you can post messages and converse with emos.
