How to Deal With Women's Mood Swings

Women are known to be emotional creatures due to their tendency to have hormonal fluctuations and a sensitive nature. Thanks to the complex hormones surging through their bodies, especially during certain times in their cycle, many women experience mood swings. Men, who are often already confused by women, have a hard time dealing with this. Fortunately, there are simple ways for men -- or anyone -- to deal with a woman's mood swings.

Instructions

    1

Be aware of the woman's menstrual cycle, stress level or anything that may contribute to moodiness. If you know when it is coming, you will be less surprised and more understanding if she becomes moody.

    2

Avoid irritating her if she seems moody or you know she is stressed. Do your best not to upset her, though it may not always be avoidable. If her sense of humor is lacking during these times, try not to make jokes that you know might offend her.

    3

Extend kind gestures. Counteract her moodiness by doing something sweet for her. For example, bring her her favorite candy or offer to rub her back.

    4

Be attentive. Listen to her vent and provide supportive comments. Ask her what you can do to help her.

    5

Avoid phrases like, "Geez are you on your period?" Though it may be true, a woman does not want you to try to diagnose or explain away her emotions. She will only become more agitated with you.

    6

Stay out of the line of fire if all else fails.
