How to Jokingly Turn a Guy Down

You can turn down a guy gently or harshly. You also have the option of using humor to reject a guy. Come up with creative dumping contexts and lines to let the guy know that you want to be single again. Humor helps diffuse the intensity and awkwardness of the situation for both of you, and just maybe you could have a good laugh at the situation sometime down the line.

Tell him you're going to be away for a long time. From a vacation to far-off countries to a dream to join NASA and fly off to Mars, and everything in between like going to Mecca or the Himalayas -- all of these would successfully convey your message to the guy. Add at the end something like "I prefer some peace on the journey. So, I'll obviously be going alone," to make sure he gets the message.

Give him a list of qualities you don't like in him. Say something like, "You are too handsome, too intelligent, too mature, and really too much for me. How much goodness do you expect me to handle?" or "I cannot forgive or accept someone who is Facebook ignorant." Change your relationship status on your Facebook page immediately to show you mean it, and that you're now officially single.

Invent horrible fictitious parents. Tell him your parents are very protective of you and conduct a background check of all your dates. Inform that it's their ritual to follow you and your date on your outings to know what you both are up to. Add that your parents are strict vegetarians and everyone in the family is supposed to be so.

Inform him that your dating priorities have changed. Say something like, "I find I'm not interested in you. I felt the same way about Chris, Harry and Abdul. I'm seriously thinking about trying same-sex dating this time."
