Learning how to flirt is one college lesson you do not want to miss. College brings many single people together who might not otherwise meet. Knowing how to flirt allows you to take advantage of this unique opportunity to meet, talk to and date people you find attractive and interesting.
Sharing a Class
Two people in the same class have many opportunities to flirt. Sit next to the person to whom you are attracted. Ask him for notes from the class you missed, or invite him to study with you for an upcoming test. You can also try to be in the same group when class projects call for students to divide into groups. You have the whole semester to flirt.
Being There
Be present. Be around when the girl you have your eye on walks by. Eat at the dining hall of her dorm. Find out where she has classes and "coincidentally" be there when she walks between classes. Hang out with people who know her, and go to events she is known to attend.
Intiating a Mild Debate
Initiate a mild debate with your special someone. This flirting technique allows you to talk for a while, discussing a popular topic in the news or one that is currently debated at your college. Stir up a little controversy, but try to keep it light. Be challenging, but not threatening, and make it clear you enjoy the opportunity to talk and get to know each other.
Flirting With Athletes
If you are interested in an athlete, keep up with information about the team, his games and the team's record. Know what position he plays. If unfamiliar with the game, read about it to learn all you can. Go to the games, pay attention and know the scores. Afterward, talk to the him about the game and show interest with detailed accounts, comments and compliments.
Illiciting Help
There can be several situations in which you need assistance with something, such as finding your way around a large campus, writing a research paper or understanding a difficult concept learned in class. Even though other people could help you, focusing your attention on a certain person you find attractive to illicit her help is flirtatious, and it provides many more opportunities to flirt.
Behaving Provocatively
Dress provocatively but with taste when the object of your affection is around. Draw attention to your assets by the way you are dressed and by your posture, standing up straight with your chest out or leaning in toward the person. Keep yourself open and encourage touching by facing one another, standing close and maintaining eye contact. Be forward and sexy but have a balance with some modesty and reserve.
