Distress between your boyfriend and your parents can lead to problems in your relationship with both. Instead of damaging your relationship with one party to appease the other party, bring your boyfriend and parents together and resolve the issues before they get worse. Ask your boyfriend and your parents what the problem is. Ask your parents their reasons why they do not like your boyfriend. Ask your boyfriend his reasons for not liking your parents. Figure out when the relationship between your boyfriend and your parents soured. Once you have pinpointed the problem, you can address it.
2Ask your boyfriend and your parents how the problem can be resolved without ending your relationship with either of them. Help them come up with solutions to the problems and concerns they have addressed. Ask for cooperation from both parties. Tell them the problem cannot be resolved if either party is unwilling to cooperate.
3Tell them how important repairing the bad relationship between them is to you. Let your boyfriend and your parents know how stressful their differences are on you and how you cannot be fully happy in either relationship without help and cooperation from both.
4Let your boyfriend and parents talk without you. When you are temporarily eliminated from the picture, they may be more open when talking about their problems with one another.
5Agree to a solution to the problem even if the solution is temporary. Suggest regular talks so everyone stays on the same page about the problem.
