How to Get Over a Relationship

Here's steps to get over a relationship that has ended. Sometimes getting over someone can be difficult, which can lead to bad decisions in the future. It's important to end, and get over that relationship properly.

Go out with friends, or family. Don't sit around.

Keep busy. When you sit around and reflect on it constantly, it's going to be impossible to get over it. Do things that force you to not think about it 24/7. Being active is very important and definitely helps the process.

Make sure you remember the bad.

Don't just sit there and remember the good. If the relationship is truly over, then there was a lot of bad in it, too. Remember the times you weren't happy with him or her. Feel good knowing you can meet someone better for you eventually. There's plenty of fish in the sea.

Go out and try new things.

Maybe do something you've not done in awhile, or something you've never done before. Do things that are new, explore different things that you might enjoy. This really can help a lot and make you feel confident again.

Make sure you stay positive.

Don't beat yourself up. If the relationship ended on their watch, don't keep blaming yourself as if something is wrong with you. Sometimes it just doesn't work out, because of different interests, or just two different people who can't connect. Keep it positive and realize that this is just part of dating. You'll find someone else better for you. It may be hard to think that, but it's true.

Watch things that make you laugh.

Laughter is truly the best medicine when feeling down. Rent some comedies, watch your favorite sitcom. Try to laugh a lot, that will help you make feel better about yourself.

Leave it up to time.

Time is the best medicine. You aren't going to get over them in 2 days. So realize that time is what does the ultimate trick. You'll have good days and bad in between, but stay focused and determine. As time goes by, it's like what was the big deal? You can do it! It gets better with time.
