How to Deal With a Cheap Guy

When you find yourself constantly footing the bill when you're out with your guy, it can become tiresome. This is especially true if the guy has the funds to pay his own way -- and occasionally yours, but he chooses not to make a move for his wallet when it's time to take care of the bill. Fortunately, you don't have to sit idly by and continue paying for everything. Instead, you can take action and let the cheap guy know he needs do his part.

Instructions

Confront the issue. Tell him that you don't mind paying the bill as long as you both take turns or split it in half. Let him know that you would appreciate it if he would offer to pay at least half of the expense next time you two go somewhere, or if there's a bill that needs to be paid.

Remind him tactfully that you expect him to reach for his wallet when it comes time to pay. For instance, before you leave for a restaurant or a theater, say: " Do you mind paying this time? I'll get it the next time." Or, "I've got money to cover my ticket. Do you have money for yourself?"

Postpone plans if he says he doesn't have the money to pay. Suggest that you both put the money aside in a designated place -- such as in an envelope in a desk drawer or a jar on the kitchen counter, so that during the week so you will have the funds to go out on the weekend or to pay a bill.
