Being in a relationship often has two components. The first is the romantic partnership aspect, while the other is the friendship. Relationships often start out with both components and they are great. But then the friendship side starts to fizzle and you are left going through the motions of a dull relationship. Any boyfriend you have should also be a good friend. Win that companionship back by being the friend that he also needs.

Find ways to get him to spend time with you. Organize a day for the two of you to do things you both like. For example, take a day trip to lounge in a hot spring. Spending time together outside of your routine could reunite your friendship.
2Tell him that you want things to be back to the way they were when you were also friends. Maybe he's feeling the same way you are. Let him know that you feel your relationship is only focused on the romantic aspect -- and it can't be very romantic if you are no longer friends.
3Spend time doing activities that are most common among friends. Instead of going on formal dinner and movie dates, have fun with him and toss the baseball around at the beach. Dates tend to be consumed by people acting the way they think the other person wants them to act, so by taking your relationship outside of the strict dating arena, you can open up more and just be friends.
4Make a sacrifice. If you usually spend Saturday nights with the girls, tell him you'd rather do those types of friendly activities with him. Order a pizza and play video games. Making a sacrifice will make him want to work at being your friend.
5Listen to him. A good friend will show interest when you are speaking. A girlfriend, however, might be more demanding. Allowing him to treat you like a friend will make him more willing to treat your relationship like a friendship.
